The Equalities and Diversity Inclusion Group
At Pond Meadow we have The Equalities and Diversity Inclusion Group (EDI). This group has been developed by a range of staff with different races, disabilities, genders, gender identify, ages and religions.
The aim of this group is to consult and involve those affected by inequality in the decisions Pond Meadow takes to promote equality and eliminate discriminations. The EDI group have been working on the new Equality Objectives, Curriculum enrichment, policies and Celebration Calendar.
Rosie Fearn is our school Equalities Lead and she is currently developing links within the school community to ensure that everyone is truly represented within the school. Our yearly calendar and topics are full of a range of events and celebrations to involve all backgrounds. Regular communication through letters and questionnaires are sent to all school stakeholders including staff, parents, pupils and governors. Student voice has also been developed through the school council, voting, and discussing relevant issues.
Staff training has been held to promote the importance of equality and representation. More training is being developed by different groups of people within our school community who these issues directly involve.
